Top 5 Tuesdays of Books that start with– F – G – H – I – J

Top 5 Tuesday
Hosted by: Bionic Book Worm
Description: A weekly top 5 list, with different topics each week. Topics are announced at the beginning of each month.

F. Fingersmith by Sarah Waters

First on my list is Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. When I originally placed this on my TBR list I never ever thought I would actually read it due to it not being my type of genre or book. However I am so glad I did as it is amazing. The amount of twists and turns in this book is more than I have had hot dinners but it keeps you on your toes and makes you question everything you thought you knew. Highly recommend this book to anyone and this got me into victorian fiction!

G. Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris

Next on my list is Gentlemen and Players by Joanne Harris. This again is not a book I expected to pick up and read but it was on display in my local library last year as “a psychological thriller you must read”. I admit I judged it by its cover and left it for a few weeks. I eventually checked it out and I was not disappointed. I have to be honest it is not one of my favourite ever books and I would not necessarily class it as a “psychological thriller”, but it definitely kept me engaged and had a twist I never saw coming.

H. Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson

Next is Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson. Peter Swanson is hands down one of my favourite authors and I am waiting for my fiancee to finish reading The Girl with a Clock for A Heart before I can devour it. I have read all of his novels but that one and Her Every Fear is one of my favourites. It is very dark, gritty, gruesome and quite frighting at times. I loved how Swanson created his settings and nerve racking moments through the main characters. If your a Swanson fan and have not read this you need to now! Even if you have not read any of Swanson’s work pick this up ASAP!

I. Intensity by Dean Koontz

Oh boy this book sure lives up to its name of Intensity! This book is so intense I felt like I couldn’t breath as I flipped through the pages. I read this in two sittings and felt my heart beating faster due to how intense it actually is. The suspense in this book is something I have not witnessed before and it makes you feel like you can’t breathe! I do not know how Koontz managed to do this but OMG he does and it is such a fast read. There are no lulls at all in this book and from beginning to end there is so much suspense! Definitely on my top favourite books ever read.

J. Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone

This has been on my TBR list for a while and I can’t wait to get around to reading it. I actually do not know that much about it and was wondering if anyone could help me and let me know their thoughts?

Anyone read any of these books? What was your thoughts? I would love to know.

      1. No I haven’t unfortunately, but they all look like really cool books. I really need to expand my reading since I tend to just stay with YA fantasy and historical fiction … and just YA in general 🙂
